Further adventures of a Mess - La Serena

ALBUM - Salad Days by Mac DeMarco It’s another storytime blogpost today! I finally made it out of busy Santiago to see what else Chile had to offer. What ensued can only be described as madness. As usual with my stories… it’s to be expected by now I guess. So we decided to go to La Serena; my flatmate had found a beach where you could go diving with dolphins and see penguins. What’s not to like?! Nearby was the Elqui Valley where you could go to a pisquero (where they make pisco - the typical drink of Chile) and get great views of the stars at night - it just kept getting better. So we booked an overnight bus on Thursday night, two nights in a hostel in La Serena and a return bus on the Sunday. We wouldn't even miss a class! Because I was involved, I decided we should go get a last nice dinner and some drinks in Santiago before our bus at midnight. Santiago - First Impressions

ALBUM - Body Confident/Easy Go - The Hubbards It’s been a while, I’ll admit that. But I do think I have a pretty decent excuse. I finished my exams in Sicily and then had a hectic few weeks at home before making the trek to SANTIAGO! That’s right, I am here! I’ve nearly been here two weeks but honestly it has felt like no time at all. So today I thought I would treat us all to my first thoughts on this city. My flight was overnight, and after immigration and waiting a stupid amount of time for my bags I fell into the back of a taxi en route to my new flat. A lot of my friends have come to their new cities with a bed in a hostel and once they arrive, decide to find their flat. I didn’t do this in either city, something about coming with no plan stressed me out. I actually found my flats very easily on websites and I’m sure I was lucky that there were no nasty surprises.
